The Deputy Speaker

There shall be a Deputy Speaker of the USRC who shall be elected from amongst USRC members and shall be the principal assistant to the speaker. The elected Deputy Speaker shall take oath before the Speaker immediately
after being elected and the occasion must be witnessed by the elect USRC.

According to SUASO Constitution;

• The Deputy Speaker is not a member of the SUASO Cabinet and Judicial organ
• The Deputy speaker shall convene and preside over USRC meetings in the
  absence of the Speaker.
• The Deputy Speaker shall hold office for one year
• The Deputy Speaker shall cease to hold office if he/she is removed from office by a resolution of the USRC by votes of no confidence “not less than two thirds” of all USRC members if he/she violates any provision of this
  constitution
