There is a hostel accommodation unit assembly for every Sokoine University of Agriculture hostel accommodation Unit. All SUASO members residing in that hostel or unit members in accordance with the electoral rules of this constitution shall elect the Hostel or Unit Chairperson and his Secretary shall constitute the Hostel or Unit Assembly. The Hostel or Unit Assembly shall meet in an ordinary session at least twice during each academic semester. The Hostel or Unit chairperson in his absence the Secretary shall chair the Hostel Assembly meetings. The quorum for such meeting shall be half (1/2) the number of its members.
Function of the Hostel/Unit Assembly
The function of the hostel or unit assembly shall be to discuss matters of interest to the hostel or unit residence and to make relevant recommendations to the USRC or as the case may be to the Central Government /the Ministry
responsible.
Hostel/Unit Chairperson and Secretary
(1) The hostel/accommodation unit Chairperson and Secretary shall be responsible for carrying out decisions of the hostel/accommodation unit assembly concerning the hostel/accommodation unit.
(2) The hostel/accommodation unit chairperson and secretary shall be answerable to the hostel/accommodation unit assembly.
